What do I do?
I'm a children's book illustrator and author from Toronto, living in Montreal. My books include the Farm Crimes! series (Owlkids Books) published in French, Crimes à la Ferme! (La Courte Échelle), and illustrations for Simone sous les Ronces (Fonfon), appearing in English 2022 under the title Olivia Wrapped in Vines (Orca books), Bob le bobo (La Courte Échelle), and an upcoming title for Kidscan Press (Spring 2022).

Both Simone sous les Ronces and Bob le bobo won the Prix des Libraires in Québec, so I got to take a very respected prize home 2 years in a row! That felt amazing.
I also make comics about dogs, anxiety, and living through the Global Pandemic. I am writing my first middle grade graphic novel.
I am a big reader - I read poetry, mystery novels, business books, psychology books and Graphic Novels, Comics. Recipes. Cereal Boxes. Everything.
Drawing always makes me feel happy, you should try it sometime (if you sign up to my newsletter at moonandsparrow.com/newsletter you will receive some easy tutorials and templates for drawing and making art).
You can see my collection of USA maps, as well as my Anatomy of a Heart series, on the exquisite products of Uncommon Goods and Primitives by Kathy, as well as my Wild Canada map puzzle with Canadian company Standout Puzzles (best puzzles ever).
I love to teach art to kids and often visit classrooms to talk about storytelling in our everyday lives, and how comics make us feel better, and how we can learn to draw all of our feelings out. Get in touch if you're interested in having me visit! (Virtual visits until further notice).

I’m inspired by colour, layers, and texture. I often change up my medium, working with pencils, acrylic paints, digital colouring, and gouache because I think each project calls for its own set of tools. But you will always find an element of humour, honesty, and most of all, storytelling in my work.
Free time? What’s that? My husband, kids and I are always walking around with our rescue dog Indy (who doesn’t listen, or come when we call her.)
Please have a look around my site and drop me a line, I love getting emails from you all!
